Denver Housing Authority – Mariposa

Denver, CO

This was the 2nd phase of a HUD HOPE VI master planned revitalization of the La Alma neighborhood that was predicated on the TOD Light Rail station at 10th and Osage. There are six phases in the time line, and DHA is replacing 300 units of obsolete affordable apartments with approximately 900 units in towers or 4-story mixed-use buildings. Phase 2 consists of four buildings comprising 93 units of 1, 2, and 3 bedrooms, six net zero Townhomes, commercial space for non-profit partners, a new central plaza featuring public art, and vibrant colors to reflect the diverse cultural residences of Latino, Somali, and Vietnamese. The building acquired a LEED Gold and included 157kw of solar.
